Fiona Phillips reveals she has coronavirus as she begs fans not to panic

Fiona Phillips revealed she has coronavirus.

The former GMTV presenter confirmed the news on Twitter, urging her fans not to ‘panic’.

Taking to social media, the 59-year-old said: ‘I am in bed with #coronvirusuk.

‘It’s not a very pleasant bedfellow, but nothing more than sore throat, dry cough, headache & tiredness.

‘As long as it stays that way….DON’T panic! (sic).’

Former co-host Eamonn Holmes was among the first to reach out to the star, replying: ‘Get well soon Miss Fyona. Keep us posted x (sic).’

Fiona is the latest famous face to be diagnosed with the condition, amid the global pandemic.

Linda Lusardi and her husband Sam Kane were both taken to hospital earlier this week, amid fears they are also suffering from the virus, also known as Covid-19.

Sharing an insight into their situation, she said: ‘I want to thank you all for your good wishes. Sam and I have had Covid-19 symptoms and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else.

‘We are taking it one-day-at-a-time, that’s all we can do. But let me tell you we’ve never felt this ill, EVER!

‘I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.  So stay safe everyone and follow the advice of the experts – please take care of yourselves, loved ones and each other. (sic).’

While Bachelor favourite Colton Underwood revealed he had also tested positive, explaining the symptoms were ‘kicking his ass’.

The pandemic is continuing to spread across the globe at an alarming rate, with the death toll in the UK rising to 177, after a further 40 people died after testing positive for the condition.

‘While thousands more have died around the world.’
