Zoe Ball told fans that she’d received a lovely bouquet of flowers from rock star Noel Gallagher on her breakfast show this morning. The BBC Radio 2 star said the former Oasis star sent her the gift on Friday, after he failed to appear on her show.

The 50-year-old star dubbed him a “naughty no-show”.

Noel was due to call into the radio programme last week to talk about his latest music release with the High Flying Birds.

However embarrassingly, Zoe had to reveal that she and her team were having trouble getting in contact with him.

The presenter told listeners that he’d probably been partying too hard.

Speaking on this morning’s show, she said: ”I did get a lovely bouquet of flowers when I got home on Friday from the naughty no-show Mr Noel Gallagher.

“He’s promised he’ll come in with his guitar very soon.

“I’m holding him to that, I promise,” she assured her listeners.

On Friday, Zoe had to admit that the billed rockstar would not be appearing on the programme as advertised.

To make matters worse, a similar incident had occurred the previous month when musician Paul Weller failed to appear.

“Now, we are having a little bit of a Paul Weller situation going on this Friday, lovely people,” she said.

“A few weeks ago, we had Noel Gallagher on the show talking about a very exciting new album.

“He was becoming quite the regular – the king of rock and roll. He has a new album, Back The Way We Came: Volume 1.

“It was released today and we were going to talk to him all about it but we are having trouble getting hold of Noel.

“Someone is actually going round to knock on his door,” she continued.

“He’s probably started early on the celebrations, you know what he’s like Noel, he loves a party.”

During his previous appearance on the show, Noel had spoken about his upcoming album and how lockdown had given him the perfect opportunity to complete some unfinished songs.

He also revealed how he had convinced The Crown star Matt Smith to feature in one of his music videos, joking that he seized his moment after a party.

“I’ve been friends with Matt for about ten years and he was round mine one night and what I did is, I manipulated him with a lot of alcohol,” he told the host.

“And then as he was leaving I said, ‘Have you had a good night?’

“‘Oh the best mate.’ And I was like, ‘Do us a favour, be in the video for this track’ and he goes ‘Yeah no problem’.

“I got someone to call him the very next day and he agreed with a hangover,” Noel said.
