Coronation Street’s Johnny plans soap exit as he nabs all of Jenny’s money

Coronation Street 's Johnny Connor's soap exit was mentioned tonight as the character revealed his plans to leave Jenny and steal her money.

In the first instalment of tonight's Corrie double-bill, Johnny (Richard Hawley) told Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) he wanted a divorce moments before her former step daughter arrived.

A flustered Jenny invited in Daisy and her boyfriend Lee, and pretended like everything was fine.

Later, things turned frosty as Johnny and Jenny continued to make sly digs at one another.

During their brutal row, Johnny told Jenny: "Check the joint account I've emptied it all into my own."

Viewers went into meltdown on social media, disgusted at Johnny's behaviour.

One said: "Johnny stole all the money then accuses jenny of being all about the money.

"He's disgusting."

While another wrote: "Why is Johnny being so cruel? Surely he’s just trying to hurt Jenny so she lets him go?"

"I can’t believe Johnny is leaving. F*** him", penned a third.

Johnny was involved in a hit and run in the past, injury a security guard during the robbery.

He told the mother of the security guard, Margaret, that he was responsible for her son's injuries.

Johnny found out from Margaret that the guard had turned to alcohol in his later years, and he sadly died.

He confessed his guilt and is being arrested for his crimes.
