Im A Celebrity spin off The Daily Drop is axed by ITV after just one series

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! spin-off show The Daily Drop has been axed after just one series.

The show aired on the ITV Hub and was hosted by Vick Hope, with new episodes landing each morning.

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Vick, 32, now hosts Radio 1's Drivetime show with last year's I'm A Celebrity star Jordan North, 31.

An ITV spokesperson said: "We'd like to thank Vick Hope and everyone involved in the show last year for bringing fans of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! all the latest news and gossip."

The Daily Drop was a replacement for the long running I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp, which aired on ITV2 from 2002 to 2019.

Its most recent hosting lineup featured former contestants Adam Thomas, Joel Dommett and Emily Atack.

This will be the first time in I'm A Celeb's 19-year run that a spin-off series isn't scheduled to air.

Meanwhile, Tom Daley's Gold medal-winning Olympic diving partner Matty Lee has reportedly signed up. He'll be spending time in Gwyrch Castle in Wales, where I'm A Celeb will be returning for the second year running.

A source told The Sun: “Matty became one of the most talked about names in the Olympics Games this summer.

“There had been some talk of getting Tom on board before but after his performance in the Olympics Matty became a hot favourite and his diary was free. The timing was perfect.

“Matty is young, strong and will thrive under the pressures of the challenges. He is really excited about getting on board and diving into the action.”

Two soap legends will be joining Matty, as actors Adam Woodyatt (Walford's Ian Beale) and Simon Gregson (Weatherfield's Steve McDonald) have both signed up.

Unlikely pairings are an I'm A Celebrity staple, and it's hoped that viewers will enjoy seeing two soap 'rivals' bonding on the show.

ITV bosses see the signing of the two actors as being 'a real coup' for the series and are hoping they will provide plenty of comedy to keep viewers entertained.
