Roy Cropper (David Neilson) makes a huge decision in upcoming scenes, resolving to leave Coronation Street.
The popular soap character has been struggling to get his head around the fact that the gun Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) almost shot Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) with was the very same gun used to kill Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac).
Knowing of Abi’s plan to enact revenge on behalf of son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni), Roy tracked her down and talked her out of taking the killer’s life, before covering for her with the police when questioned about the incident.
But little did he know that sinister Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) would subsequently get his hands on the firearm, and use it to shoot Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), who he mistook for Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
Roy made the discovery earlier this week, and – despite his guilt – he covered for Abi once more.
Monday’s (November 22) offering of the ITV serial drama saw the legend tell niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) that they both must accept responsibility for their role in Natasha’s death.
Afterwards, he paid a visit to the solicitor’s office, where her asked Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) to assist him in signing over all that he owns to Nina, with immediate effect.
Roy is hellbent on saying goodbye to the street he called home for many years, but the question is: will he actually depart?
Is David Neilson leaving Coronation Street as Roy Cropper or is he coming back?
It is currently unknown as to whether or not Roy is leaving Coronation Street, and there has been no announcement made about David Neilson’s status on the show.
You’ll just have to keep watching to find out!
This evening’s double-bill of the long-running serial drama will see Roy call at the garage, asking Abi to sell the Woody for him as soon as possible. When Abi reveals that Roy’s selling the Woody, Nina’s more worried than ever.
Nina finds out from Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) that Roy has signed over his entire estate to her with immediate effect, and she’s shocked, relaying her discovery to Abi, explaining that she’s frightened Roy is going to take his own life.
Roy, however, reveals that he plans to leave Weatherfield for good. But will he follow through?
Coronation Street continues Wednesday November 24 at 7:30pm on ITV.
