Michelle Keegan has teased a mysterious return to Coronation Street – a full six years after her character died.
The Our Girl actress got her big break on the soap, playing Tina McIntyre until she was killed off in 2014 by the evil Rob Donovan.
But this is soapland after all, and on Instagram today Michelle filmed herself on the iconic Manchester set, having a stroll past Dev’s off-licence as she made her epic comeback.
Alongside the pic she wrote: ‘Look where I am… Feels like yesterday I was on these cobbles.’
Question is… how is she making a comeback? Will someone be paid a visit by the Ghost of Corrie Past this Christmas? Or is it something far more simple, like a trip down memory lane for Michelle?
Guess we’ll find out soon enough…
Team Corrie are currently filming their Christmastime stories, with fairy lights strewn across the set to get everyone in the festive mood.
Since returning to the set after coronavirus shut down production, the team have gone all out to ensure that the show is as safe as possible, filming as much as they can in fear of a Tier 3 lockdown should it occur.
Explaining that they now have plans in place should a shutdown happen, boss Iain Macleaod explained they still have social bubbles as a ‘contingency plan’ to continue filming.
‘I don’t want to jinx things but at the moment we are on course to hit the 60th and Christmas – it will therefore be narrative,’ he told The Sun Online.
‘Assuming everything remains as it is, big story peaks and arcs rather than a standalone.
‘We are very agile as a genre, we can change tack extremely quickly so if it got to the point where we can’t film Christmas, we would change course and shoot a standalone episode.
‘But at the moment, fingers crossed, we shouldn’t need to.’
We’ve got all our fingers and toes crossed too, team.
