The Chase viewers were left in stitches after Bradley Walsh welcomed “Shaggy from Scooby Doo” onto the ITV show.

During Tuesday’s visit to the ITV studios, the TV host introduced four new quizzers onto the show looking to put their general knowledge to the test.

As fans tuned in for the primetime show, the former Coronation Street star introduced contestants Rachel, Shelby, Fergus and Jen onto the show before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

This week, the quartet were up against Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis who made sure to bring his A-game as he showed off his impressive intelligence during the quiz.

On the show, the TV presenter invited contestants up to the pedestal to fight their way to the final round against the former researcher.

As he welcomed Fergus down to the nail-biting head-to-head round, he joked: "Now we're going to hear from Shaggy from Scooby Doo" as the studio erupted into laughter on set.

But he wasn't the only contestant who bore a striking resemblance to a famous figure after quizzer Rachel took on the egghead.

As the English teacher wowed viewers with her impressive general knowledge, fans flooded to Twitter to point out her similarity to former Countdown presenter Anne Robinson.
