A new face will arrive in Emmerdale soon in the form of Gavin – played by Ben Richards.

Working with Al (Michael Wildman), Gavin is set to play a huge role in the current Woolpack storyline.

Al is secretly planning on turning the pub into luxury apartments but remains unaware Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is deliberately flirting with him in the hope he’ll reveal what he’s really up to.

Who is Ben Richards?

49-year-old Ben Richards is an actor and dancer from West Sussex.

Ben studied dance from an early age and later took part in theatre.

After featuring in films, Ben began his career in television with guest roles in a variety of British dramas.

What else has Ben Richards been in?

Ben is most known for his role as Bruno Milligan in Footballers’ Wives.

He played the role of Bruno from 2005-2006.

Ben has also appeared in BBC One’s Holby City playing Justin Fuller.

Most recently, Ben had a role in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, playing the role of Sgt Ben Bradley from 2014-2016.

Ben’s credits also include The Bill and Doctors.

Is Ben still filming at Emmerdale?

Yes! A recent Instagram picture revealed to Ben’s followers that Gavin will be sticking around in the Dales.

This same Instagram picture also saw Ben accidentally reveal a new storyline for the ITV soap.

A few weeks ago, Metro.co.uk exclusively revealed that we had seen pictures of a burnt looking Woolpack and, judging by Ben Richards’ photo, it looks as though this storyline will probably be going ahead.

Metal fences surround the pub in Ben’s photo and if you look closely, you can see boarded up windows, doors and smoke damage around them.

The context of the story and why the pub is burnt down could go a number of ways.

Is it deliberate, an accident and is Al involved?

Could Al and Gavin both set fire to the pub after their plan is exposed? Or could there be some unexpected curveballs ahead?
