Yellowstone season four is on the way to Paramount Network and viewers are excited to find out what happened after the tense season three finale. John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) and his daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) were both left for dead following two separate attacks. Fans are wondering who Rip (Cole Hauser) will save first, and he may have to choose between the two.

Will Rip be forced to choose between John and Beth?

The third season of Yellowstone left fans in shock as three of the Dutton family members were targeted by anonymous attackers.

John was shot at the roadside and was left bleeding on the ground, meanwhile daughter Beth was caught up in an explosion at her office.

Kayce (Luke Grimes) also felt the wrath of a group of gunmen who had been ordered to take him down.

Ranch hand Rip was one of the only main characters to avoid danger and fans believe he will be the one to save the family.

However, he is likely to be torn between saving his fiancée Beth, or his father-figure John.

Rip realised he would be on his own when it came to looking out for the family, following the unusual phonecall with Jamie (Wes Bentley).

John’s adopted son had asked Rip not to make contact with him again, which leaves Rip to clean up the mess.

One Reddit user said: “After that Rip’s last phone call to Jamie, who do you think he’ll go to first and save. Is it Beth, Kayce, or John Dutton? To whom does his loyalty lie?”

Fans are certain former US marine Kayce will not need saving and he will take care of himself.

Another added: “I mean Beth is his love, so she seems like the obvious choice. However, I think Rip could actually do more to help John at this point more than Beth. Not that he knows that yet.”

Viewers have suggested Rip will come across John on the road, as John was on his way home at the time of the shooting.

Another fan said: “Rip is heading into town, that’s where they all headed this morning from the ranch so he should find John.

“I am assuming Kayce will kill his assassins. I do worry about Beth surviving. When they keep showing the great scenes with Beth and Rip it usually means one of them will die.”

Many believe Beth will survive as she is such a pivotal character in the series, and it has even been suggested that she planted the bomb herself.

Some have a feeling Beth will spend some of the upcoming episodes in a coma, which will leave Rip an opportunity to get his revenge.

The likelihood is, in terms of their location, Rip will find John first and take him to the hospital.

A young boy had been close by and fans believe the boy will be the one to flag Rip down and get help.

Some have gone as far as to suggest Beth and Rip will then adopt the boy, as Beth is unable to have children of her own.

Although fans would like to see Rip run to the rescue and save Beth, her future is the hardest to predict.

A new theory suggests the explosive at her office was a setup to get her revenge.

Fans are convinced Rip will become the hero of the season as he is given a chance to avenge the Duttons.

His character has shown no remorse when it comes to taking people down and he will undoubtedly head out to find the perpetrators.

Viewers can only hope that both Beth and John survive the attacks as they are fan-favourites in the series.

The relationship between Rip and Beth is also admired greatly by fans and they would be devastated if Beth did not pull through.
