Man in 20s dies and woman in 80s fighting for life after stabbing

A man has died and a woman in her 80s is tonight fighting for her life after being stabbed in west London.

The man, believed to be in his twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene of the double stabbing in Albany Parade, Brentford, this evening.

Police say the woman, aged in her eighties, was taken to hospital suffering stab injuries.

Her condition is believed to be critical, officers say. Police are tonight investigating the double stabbing.

They say there is ‘nothing to suggest’ that the incident is linked to terrorism.

Police say no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. The male victim is yet to be formally identified.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said in a statement tonight: ‘An investigation has been launched after two people were stabbed at around 8pm on Friday, 12 November, in Albany Parade, Brentford.

‘One man, believed to be aged around 20 years, was pronounced dead at the scene.

‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish his identity, as such his family have not yet been informed. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. 

‘A woman, aged in her 80s, was taken to hospital suffering stab injuries. Her condition is believed to be critical. 

‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances. At this stage, there is nothing to suggest that the incident is linked to terrorism. There has been no arrest.’
